Kiddo Cuteness 5/17
Posted on May 18th, 2008 @ 2:08 am

Ok, so technically it’s the 18th.

Alex has found his jump button. He’s so cute when he does it, and he does it alot. We call him “Jumper” now. I’m hoping to have the video camera handy one of these days so I can catch him in the act. Words just can’t describe it.

He’s also into holding hands a bit more than he used to be. Although he’d much rather hold Tommy’s hand than anyone else’s.

This week he also found the orange Carebear (at this moment his name escapes me). He carried it around nearly all day and shared his juice with him. Yesterday he tried to tuck him in for a nap on the couch. He even put ‘Baby’ in the stroller to go for a walk the other day. This is yet another thing on my long list to catch on video.

There is also Tommy’s reading, he reads nearly everything he sees now (even emails & blog posts over someone’s shoulder). And Anthony can be caught singing the Spanish color song sometimes. If only I could constantly have the video camera with me and ready to record.

Trip to Urgent Care
Posted on May 3rd, 2008 @ 9:40 pm

We made a trip to Urgent Care this morning after Alex woke up with his poor little eyes all swollen and a bunch of nasty sleep gunk in his eyes. He was so miserable when he first woke up. We had already been outside hagging away at our yard sale for about an hour and a half or so before he woke up. I called in to the Naval Clinic and the dr called back to let me know that he sent in a referral. We waited a half hour then packed it up and called it a day. We made some money, enough to say it was probably worthwhile to set it up, considering we really only “worked” for about 2 hours. Not sure if we’ll do it again to try to get rid of the rest or not.

The trip to urgent care took about 2 hours. I would much rather sit in a quieter waiting area of the urgent care for 2 hours than sit in the loud and bustling ER. We were finally called back into an exam room after waiting for a little over an hour. Alex wanted nothing to do with being weighed or having his temperature taken. Normally he would have loved to have stomped on the scale any other day. Then we proceeded to wait in the exam room. The nurse was super nice and kept apologizing for the delay.

The dr finally came in and asked us what was wrong. We explained that we weren’t sure anymore since we didn’t think allergies could get that bad. Alex was fighting us with everything we had and so the dr said that he would examine him while we held him. After a mere 5 minutes the dr was heading out the door ready to send in a prescription to CVS for us. We are supposed to put some drops in his eyes twice a day for 5 days and an oral medication once a day for 5 days. Funny though, I don’t think that the oral medication is enough to last us 5 days. I took out enough for one dose and it emptied the bottle halfway. He does have his 2yr check up on Wednesday so hopefully he’ll be better by then or we’ll be able to get a refill.

Tom leaves for Norfolk on Monday, he’ll be gone for the week. In the beginning of June he leaves for 29 Palms for almost the entire month. They just keep making the field ops longer and longer. I think that Tommy’s last day of school is June 16th. Anthony is all signed up for Kindergarten, all we need is the completed physical form from his dr. He goes for his physical check up on Tuesday of this week.

Well, we are off to watch a movie or play more games. Something lazy :)
