The boys are back from visiting everyone in MI, we are back from our trip out to CA. We all had a good time, glad to be home and looking forward to getting back into school mode.

Tom and I thankfully did find a place to rent while we were out in CA, though the final answer didn’t come til we were home for 4 days. We do have a house though, which takes alot of pressure off of us. We looked at the school boundaries the other day and mapped out the distance of the school from our house, .9 miles. So, we are thinking about trying to walk the boys to school everyday. We need to get a list of the available utility companies in the next couple of weeks so we can find out about deposits and the costs to have all that turned on.

While the boys were gone Tom and I tackled the daunting task of cleaning out the garage. We had some mice sneaking in through the damaged garage door and they got into everything in the garage. We had to throw out so much stuff. I’m having to wash all of Tom’s gear that can go in the machine, what can’t he is taking to work next week & power washing. Mr. Landlord didn’t seem too concerned about any of it, said he would call first thing Friday morning to have someone come look at it. This came after he was, of course, an hour late. I could just scream at that man.

The boys are all set for school. We have all the necessary school supplies, minus the mysterious composition books and kindermat. Thankfully both the boys teachers said not to worry about those things. They have their backpacks with their stuff and some goodies they picked out for lunch. Anthony has his bus tag and asked to wear it yesterday. I hope that he remembers his room & his teacher. We won’t have any problems with Tommy, he has the same teacher he did last year. He really likes her, and we haven’t had any problems with her, so it was nice to see a familiar face at the Open House night.

So, in a few days the boys will be having a ball with Grandma, Papa, Aunt Jackie & Jason while Tom and I fly out to CA to try to get a house lined up. We will be out there or 5 days and will be back at home for the remaining few days of Tom’s house hunting leave. We have a class to go to on base for moving our personal belongings, we have to clean out the garage & hopefully rid ourselves of the mouse that has holed up in there. We have a bunch of things to take to goodwill, a bunch of recycling to go out and a deep freezer that needs to be cleaned out. We also have big plans of tying to remove Alex’s artwork from the walls while he’s gone and get the basement cleaned up.

So, we won’t be around for the next week or more. The boys begin school on Sept 2nd. So, we’ll be back soon!
