{poor} AlexPosted on April 21st, 2008 @ 9:06 am
So, since it was such a nice day on Saturday we took the kids outside to play. Tom watched them in the driveway & front yard while I tried to price the big pile of stuff we had sitting in the garage. When we went in we noticed that Alex’s face was a little puffy, we assumed that it would go away after a bit, probably just from being outside for a while. He had a nap and woke up and he looked so miserable. Poor kid, his eyes were so swollen they looked like they were almost shut and they were so watery. The only thing we had in the cupboard was Claritin and we hoped that would work, but since it was non-drowsy we didn’t want to give it to him at 11pm.
On Sunday morning we did give him some and it didn’t help. Since Tom was running to the exchange to get his haircut he picked up some Benadryl to try. Alex took a nap shortly after his first dose and looked a little better, but not much. He had another dose at midnight and he looks a little better this morning. His face and eyes still look kind of swollen, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. He also has little bumps and red spots on his chest, back, and a few on his arms & legs. We have no idea what he got into, unless it was just the pollen in the air that just really irritated the poor kid. He did try to catch a bee that was flying by him though. lol
He has been acting perfectly normal though, doing all the normal mischievous things that he does. Like crawling onto the computer desk to get to the pen holder on the shelf above the desk and finding the black permanent marker & bright pink highlighter and drawing all over the computer. So, he’s not acting any different than normal and since he’s looking better today it doesn’t look like a dr’s visit is really necessary. He has a well check-up on the 7th so I can double check with the dr about it then.
A photo to document the miserable way that he looked yesterday.
