Alex’s BirthdayPosted on February 21st, 2008 @ 11:42 pm
We celebrated Alex’s birthday on Sunday. I’m a few days behind in posting about it, still not feeling 100% after being sick last week. There are pictures too, but unfortunately the lighting in this house is horrible and they all have this bad orangeish tint to them, so they will all need editing. I do have a couple done, so I will post them tonight.
Alex had a great day, he got mail and enjoyed ripping open the envelopes to get to the birthday cards. He really liked the ones with characters on them that he recognized. On Sunday we took everyone to iHop for a late lunch/early dinner. After we stopped at the grocery store to buy Alex a couple balloons, I didn’t realize until his birthday that he had never gotten any balloons before and each time we go to Giant he loves to walk around them and look at them all. So, we picked those up and went home, where the birthday boy slept for a little while. When he woke up he was super excited to see the balloons so we started to set out the presents, which he promptly started tearing into.
He was doing a great job opening his presents, he just wanted to play with each thing he opened, which is obviously good - but it was a process to get him to open everything. Soon after he was done and most of the toys were out of their store packaging, we got the cake ready. We made him star cakes like last year. He was so excited to see the cakes with the candles lit. He started making faces and pretending to blow them out before they even got to him. I have a really cute picture of him trying to blow them out from across the room, with his cheeks all puffed out but it’s blurry - we’re going to try to work with it.
So, other than that it’s been a quiet week. Tom went with his platoon to the Holocaust Museum on Weds. We still have no idea what is going on with the possible move to CA. Tom has had a pretty busy week so there hasn’t been much time to call the monitor to find out what’s going on or anything. Hopefully we’ll have a better idea of things in the next week or two so that we can try to start making plans for things.
ETA: The connection won’t cooperate with me long enough to even upload 1 photo. I’ll try again later, but it’s late and I really should be heading to bed.
