That’s right, they still aren’t done working on this house. The floors were put in on Monday afternoon into the night (and yes I mean night, they didn’t leave here until sometime between 8/8:30pm). The house looks a lot better and we are quite enjoying not having a cardboard floor anymore. The countertops were supposed to be in today, but one of them was wrong (again), so they put a piece of plywood in its place and said they’ll be back when the cabinets are due to be put in. Gee…thanks. The did put up cabinets on the wall that was missing cabinets, they put the wrong sized middle one up and said they’ll just replace it with the right one when they come back.

The guys that replaced the missing portion of the floor said that’s all they had to do. We asked Mr S about it because he kept mentioning something about restoring the flooring and the guys said no. So, we waited all afternoon/evening for him yesterday because he said he was going to come out and look at the floor. When he didn’t show up by the time we ate dinner (6:30) Tom called him and didn’t get through. So he called back later and Mr S said he forgot which day he told us he was going to come out. Mr S called Tom this morning and told him that the floor guys were going to come today and rip up the flooring that was there and replace it also. 3pm now, and they haven’t arrived.

It’s been a big, big mess and a huge headache for us. We have things that need to get done and we haven’t been able to do anything because of the work on the house. We can’t unpack much more because alot of it is going in the front rooms and if they are going to replace the floors it’s a waste of time and energy to bring in anything just to have to move it. Our room just keeps piling up with more and more stuff that has no home yet. We’re getting pretty crowded in here. Plus we wanted to try to get a dresser for my clothes (lucky me they are all piled up on the floor in the closet - at the townhouse I used the linen closet right by our room for some of my clothes). We can’t get the dresser though because the computer desk is in our room, right where we would put the dresser.

I guess we’ll see what the rest of the week brings.

Tommy is on Spring Break now. I woke him up at normal time and got him all ready to school, drove him there and everything only to pull up to the school and see no one there. Oopps.
