We tried at least 4 times last night to get the internet to work. Tom even sat on the phone with tech support at about 9pm. Result: techs have to come out to the house. Do you know the window they gave us? 8am-7pm! 11 hours, and of course I had things I wanted to get done today. Tommy doesn’t have school (so thankfully I won’t miss them because of that) and I had planned on going to get ant traps and some more frosting or fondant for Tommy’s cake.

Direct TV is supposed to be here between 1 and 5pm. It’s supposed to be over 70 and nice today, so there should be no reason we can’t get it installed today. Tom has to go to parent-teacher conferences at 1:45.

So, I should go check our bank account while I am getting a decent wireless connection. Hopefully the next time we write it’ll be with our own connection.

The modem from Verizon arrived today, they just sent it out yesterday. So, I tried to set it all up…not working so far. The person I spoke with on the phone yesterday said my service was active as of Tuesday (of course - it wasn’t supposed to be until Thursday and even still they were supposed to call when the service was active). We’ll try to set it up later and if it doesn’t work then, I suppose a call to tech support will be in order.

The workers are back, they are grouting and sealing the floor downstairs, and the master bathroom (no one knew they hadn’t finished the master bathroom). Tom ran up to the school to take Tommy his cupcakes for his class and is running back there now to pick him up since the workers are still at the house. Neither one seems to speak English very well, so I don’t want to take a chance of them thinking I’m telling them to not finish the work or something crazy.

It is Tommy’s 6th birthday today. We’re going to celebrate tomorrow. He has a parent-teacher conference tomorrow at 1:45pm, and no school all day. We’ll do something for dinner, open presents and have cake. Still not sure what he decided on for his cake, the car one I think. Maybe Saturday afternoon we can take them to go see TMNT. We’ll see.
