We got back from MI on Monday. Had a good time at Jen & Mike’s wedding. Drank some, had some laughs and no kids for the night. We got back Monday night and then Tuesday Tom helped Chris pack up their UHaul. Then we drove up to VA with them to help them unload it. That was interesting. The area up there is nice, it’s a short drive from here, just 5-6 hours and it’s a short drive to Michigan from there. Only about 9-10 hours we think. The area is quite confusing. Apparently you get on I-95 to go everywhere. lol :) Chris and Sam have a nice little townhouse. There are a bunch of apartment complexes and townhouses by them.

We called Barb, our realtor who helped us buy our house to let her know that we are going to be selling. She said that she doesn’t see a problem selling our house at all and that we should get a pretty good return on it. We keep thinking more and more about buying a house in VA. It seems to make more sense and we both have enjoyed being able to paint and change things in our house. We’ll see though I guess.

The boys have been a handful - they were pretty good going up to VA. We left at about midnight and Tom rode with Chris in the UHaul so that he would be sure to stay awake. Which left Sam and I alone in our own cars with our kids. Being so late though the boys slept most of the way up there and were very good. The next morning when we where unloading the truck they got in the way a lot and tried to “help”.

Hopefully when Tom goes back to work next week he’ll be able to get a hold of the monitor and get some dates as to when he has to check-in at Quantico. Right now everything is up in the air since we have no idea when he needs to check-in. Hopefully he’ll get a while offto move and everything. This is going to be a big move for us. It will be interesting. We still don’t know if we are going to have TMO move us or do it ourselves. It would be a pain and we would probably need a 24ft truck along with a trailer but I think it would be better for us to do it ourselves. I can just imagine TMO “losing” and breaking some of our things. And I’m afraid that they would put our stuff into storage and we would be without it for a while. We’ll see I guess.

Tom’s New Suit
Posted on May 7th, 2005 @ 11:28 pm

We went to Wilmington today to do some shopping at the mall. We went looking for a dress for me and a suit for him. Got him a nice suit, JCPenny’s was having a 50% off sale on their suits. Got him a $400 suit for $200. Shirts and ties were on sale also. Plus…the salesman gave us a scratch off card to get either 10%, 15% or 20% off. Well of course we got 10% so he let us try again, got 10% again. So, he rings everything up, and goes ahead and gives us the 20% anyway. So, we got Tom a suit ($400), 2 dress shirts ($35 each), and 3 ties ($25 each) for $250. Not too bad I don’t think.
At Penny’s we also looked at dresses for me…Didn’t find alot of nice springy/summer dresses. Found a couple nice “little black dresses” though. So, tried them on, 2 fit. One that fit happened to be on clearance for $15, the other was on sale for $60. Not that bad. Though I feel like we are preparing to go to a funeral instead of a wedding. lol

Now…all we have to do is wait to see if leave is approved…Cross your fingers, the little ones are already getting excited to go to Michigan. ;)
